When people first hear that our products are “vegan,” many assume it’s simply a marketing choice to follow a growing trend.
But for us, choosing to pursue the Vegan Society Certification was not about chasing a buzzword: It was about aligning every stage of our brand’s journey with the values we believe matter most: trust, responsibility, and respect.
As a brand, we could have simply declared our products “vegan” because we already formulate without animal ingredients or animal testing. But self-claims, no matter how honest, have limits. Consumers today deserve more than just our word; they deserve proof that has been tested against the strictest standards.
That is why we turned to The Vegan Society, the world’s oldest and most recognized vegan certification body founded in the UK in 1944. By undergoing their process, we weren’t just seeking a label. We were submitting ourselves to external accountability—a system that ensures our products meet standards that are globally respected and universally understood.
At DrLOUIE, we are a science-driven brand. Every formula is born in our lab, tested for efficacy, and refined for performance. Yet science alone is not enough if it comes at the expense of ethical values. To us, true innovation happens when science and ethics move together.
The Vegan Society certification ensures that our pursuit of performance never compromises our responsibility to animals or to the planet.
One of the least visible but most critical reasons for seeking certification lies in the supply chain. Even if we design our formulas to be vegan, there are risks buried deep in raw material sourcing. Some ingredients may appear plant-based but have hidden animal-derived processes. Others may come from suppliers who still rely on animal testing.
Certification forced us to scrutinize every supplier and every process step. It required us to confirm, document, and in some cases rework partnerships to guarantee compliance.
This was not the easy path—but it was the responsible one. By choosing this route, we can stand behind every bottle we produce and say with confidence: it is truly vegan at every stage.
Not every product in the skincare industry can meet such a strict standard, which is why we are proud to announce that our five hero products have officially been certified by The Vegan Society:
Vitamin C Serum – our bestselling collagen-boosting antioxidant serum.
Revitalizing All-in-One Essence for Dry Skin – a multitasking hydrator that replaces toner, serum, lotion, and cream.
Exfoliating Cleansing Cream – a dual-function product that gently cleanses away makeup and residue and polishes the skin.
Revitalizing Dark Spot Serum – a targeted solution for hyperpigmentation and age spots.
Together, these five products represent the best of what DrLOUIE stands for: clean science, ethical responsibility, and safe results.
Some may ask: why seek this certification now? The answer is simple. We've been building DrLOUIE on verification— EWG Verified for clean ingredients, Dermatest Excellent for skin safety. Vegan Society Certification was the natural next step. Together, these three pillars form what we call our “Trinity of Trust”: Clean, Ethical, Safe.
We chose it because it reflects the holistic values we want to bring to modern skincare: formulas that are safe for skin, kind to the planet, and grounded in integrity.
Ultimately, Vegan Society Certification is not about us. It is about you—the customer who chooses to put our products on your skin. We wanted to ensure that when you look at our packaging, you don’t need to question or wonder. You can know, immediately and confidently, that our formulas are free from animal ingredients and free from animal testing.
To us, this certification is a promise: that you will never have to compromise between performance, safety, and ethics.
The process of achieving Vegan Society Certification was not simple. It demanded paperwork, supplier re-checks and truly understanding the process involved in ingredient manufacturing.
But that difficulty is exactly why it means something. Anyone can claim “vegan.” Far fewer can prove it through one of the strictest certifications in the world.
At DrLOUIE, we are proud to be one of those few. Because skincare should not only work—it should reflect values worth believing in.
